Econ Information
Economics is the scientific study of business and government policy. It is difficult to find a “one armed economist”. Most economists say that on the one hand this will happen and, because of this and that, this other thing may happen instead. People get frustrated with economics because it doesn't seem to precisely make predictions. Instead, economics turns out to be a basic way of thinking that helps people to make decisions better. For example, an economist may have learned to really understand leading and lagging indicators. Still, there is always something that can never be put into the mathematical model. As Warren Buffet said, “An investor that relies on someone with computer models, is in a very dangerous position.” In other words, most people think predictions are impossible and yet some people are consistently right. Economists call this luck and the people that get it right call it hard work and intelligence.
