Q. Why major in economics?
A. Economics is a good way to understand how to make good decisions for a firm and also to make good government policy.
Q. Why should I not major in economics?
A. The jobs are few in number. Most people need an ivy league phd to get anywhere and it still doesn't pay all that well.
Q. Is econ and business the same thing?
A. Econ and business are close, but different. Economics is more concerned with statistical modeling and firm decision making. Business is more hands on and deals with management, accounting, finance, and marketing.
Q. What do economists do well?
A. An economist is often a great researcher. If you need someone to find out something, then an economists is a great fit.
